Bantwal: State-of-art crematorium under construction at Kanchinadkapadav

Bantwal, 04 Mar 2017: Whether it’s a crematorium…..or abode of angels…….? For the intriguing minds, it’s none other than a public crematorium is being transformed into an abode of angels.

 

It lies in the midst of lush greenery at Kanchinadkapadav, in Sajipanadu gram panchayat, near here, the mighty Netravati River flows nearly. It’s the abode of Lord Shiva in 4 directions and that is the Hindu crematorium.

 

 

The works on a crematorium is underway in a 0.85 acre plot that is located in the bounty of nature at Kanchinadkapadav, in Sajipanadu gram panchayat. It lies several thousand meters above the sea level. The works are underway at the leadership of development Committee chairman Devdas Adapa Ira and at the direction of crematorium Committee chairman Yashwant Deraje.  

 

The crematorium will serve neighboring villages, Sajipapadu, Sajipamooda, Sajipamunnoor, Chelur, Ira and Manchi, while the development works are underway @ Rs 30 lac.

 

A statue of Lord Shiva about 40 feet high and Harischandra already sculpted, 30 feet high Trishul pole and other works are underway. Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala donated a cremating chamber, another chamber, welcome arch, a facility for viewing dead body at the crematorium will be built, said Yashwant.

 

The emphasis will be laid to surround the place with all varieties of plants including palm, complete with compound wall. The crematorium will be fully functional by May 2017.

 

The local Netaji Yuvaka Sangha volunteered to transport the mortal remains to the crematorium for free of cost.
