Bantwal: 10 couples get wedded in mass weddings at Farangipet

Bantwal, 27 Feb 2017: The wealthy in society have the duty towards uplifting poor and downtrodden, said Usman Darimi Khatib of Jumma masjid, Farangipet, here.
Usman Khatib was speaking during mass wedding programme that was organized by Kidmatul Islam Association, Farangipet, in collaboration with Muhiuddin Jumma masjid, Farangipet, near here at the shore of Netravati River, Farangipet, on Sunday, February 26.
Karnataka state food and civil supplies minister U T Khader was the chief guest, lauded the humanitarian deed of Kidmatul Islam Association in organizing mass wedding to uplift the poor and downtrodden families.
Dakshina Kannada district Kazi Twaka Ahmed Musliar inaugurated the programme.
Haji F Mohammed Bawa, chairman of Jumma masjid, Farangipet presided the programme.
Panakkad Samir Ali Tangal, Karnataka state Cashew Development Board chairman B H Khader, Minority Development Board chairman M A Gafoor, Mangaluru municipal commissioner Mohammed Nazeer also spoke on the occasion.
B A Group founder president Dr B Ahmed Haji Mohiuddin was felicitated during the programme.
MJM Farangipet secretary Haji A Yusuf Alankar, Mangaluru-based Hidaya Foundation chairman Hanif Haji, SDPI Dakshina Kannada district president Hanif Khan Kodaje, ZP education steering Committee president K K Shahul Hameed, Abdul Latif of Arafa Group Thumbay, Shukoor of Rajdhani Jewellers, Farangipet, entrepreneurs Abdul Monu and Abdul Rashid, Mangaluru fish merchant Ismail KEL, Haji Mohammed of Kannur Ashok Bidi, Valebail Jumpresidnet Zafarulla, Salim Tailor Farangipet, Hamza of Baikandy Chicken Stall, Mahin Darimi Patoor, Mangaluru TRF honorary advisor Rafiq Master, Zubail Sajipapadu, B K Iddinabba and others were present.
ZP former member F Ummer Farouq delivered the preliminary address and welcomed the gathering. Abdul Hamid Goltamajal proposed vote of thanks. Abdul Razak Anantady Master compered the programme.
