Blood donation enhances health, saves others life – P Nayak

Karkala, 22 Nov 2016: The free food offering in temples satiate the hunger of devotees, while blood donation enhances health and saves others lives. The blood donation is a noble deed indeed, while the healthy youth community should be voluntarily contribute their blood towards creating healthy society, said Pundalika Nayak, managing trustee of Umamaheshwari and Durgaparameshwari temple, Adapady, near Belman, here.
Nayak was speaking after inaugurating mega blood camp that was organized by alma mater of Government Higher Primary School, Dadabettu, near Adapady, Palli, here on Sunday, November 20, in association with the blood bank of Udupi district hospital.
Primary Health Centre (PHC) resident medical officer Dr Ravindra Borkar offered info about blood donation by healthy individuals.
The district hospital blood bank medical officer Dr Veena Kumari offered info about the functions of district blood bank and spoke about the importance of blood donation.
The alumnus and Mangaluru-based A B Shetty Dental College head of department Dr Pushparaj Shetty, alma mater president Krishna Bhat, alumnus Narendra Kamath and Sadanand Shetty were present at the dais.
The School head teacher Shanti Clara Serrao, school betterment Committee president Bharat Ranjan, teachers Shobha Nayak, Jayanti and alma mater office bearers were present.
Narendra Kamat compered the programme. Harish Nayak Dadabettu assisted in the programme.
