Udupi: IFAFEA delegation meets minister Pramod to seek support for sardine oil project

Udupi, 15 Nov 2016: The delegation of Indian Fishmeal and Fish Oil Exporters Association (IFAFEA), here met Karnataka minister for fisheries, sports and youth services Pramod Madwaraj at his office in Vikas Souda, Bengaluru, on November 8, seeking support for various projects of IFAFEA.
The delegation briefed about the fisheries development project of sardine oil that they have decided to begin as it’s a proven means and responsible move for IFAFEA. They also convinced minister Madwaraj about IFAFEA being the key stakeholder including state and central governments in the project. The minister assured the delegation that he will convene a meeting in 15 days and instructed fisheries director to include IFAFEA along with government agencies to attend the meeting.
The delegation comprised IFAFEA president Shoukat Shouri, CEO Maheshraj Malpe briefed about the new project. IFAFEA secretary Mohammed Harris, treasurer Udayakumar Salian, Riyaz Bawa, Rakshit Kundar, Sameer Mohammed and others.
The state secretary S R Umashanker, fisheries minister’s secretary Dr Vijayaprakash, fisheries director Veerappa Gowda, joint director Dr C K Murthy, fisheries research chief Dr D Sheenappa Hebbal and other department officers were present.
