Biker dies in collision with state-run bus at Manihalla

Bantwal, 05 Oct 2016: A motorcyclist died after fatally injured in a collision with a KSRTC bus at Manihalla, on NH 234, here on Tuesday October 4 evening.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Sushant Rai, son of Janardhan Rai, resident of Kodenjaru in Pilatabettu village, near here.
Sushant was on his way from Bantwal to Dharmasthala, when a marauding state-run bus head-on collided, whilst the driver was dangerously overtaking a truck. The bus driver and cleaner disappeared form the scene soon after the tragedy.
Despite the Samaritans taken the fatally injured Sushant to the state-owned hospital in town, he was pronounced brought died by the doctors.
A mob agitated by the recklessness of the bus driver, did not allow the towing-truck to take the bus to the depot.
Bantwal rural sub-inspector Rakshit Gowda, town police inspector Nandakumar, traffic sub-inspector Chandrashekarayya were able to convince the mob to disperse.
Sushant family hails from Sakleshpur in Hassan district. They were living in a house that they built at Pilatabettu, here. He was an employee of Hindustan Soap Private Limited, here. He was married a year ago and his wife is expecting a baby. The family is grieving his untimely death.
