Karkala: Mahatma Gandhi & Lal Bahadur Shastry were patriots, disciplined & humane

Karkala, 03 Oct 2016: Both Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastry had superficial virtues of patriotism, cleanliness and hygiene, hard work, honesty, sense of duty, brotherhood, concern for fellowmen, serving humanity, said Pundalika Marate, vice chairman of district Rotary India Literacy Mission.
Marate was speaking during the celebrations of birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastry, held at St Joseph’s School, Belman, here on Sunday October 2. It was sponsored by Rotary Club – Shirva.
If we follow at least a few virtues of both great leaders; the dream of Ramarajya will be realized, added Marate.
St Joseph’s School alumni Association president and St Joseph’s parish council vice president Gregory Menezes presided the programme.
The School head teachers Juliana Moras and Sr Lynet D’Souza, NCC director Haridas Prabhu were present at the dais.
The students presented universal prayers, cleaned the school premises on the occasion.
The honorary teachers Lavina Pinto and Divya organized this event.
The senior teacher Vincent Pinto compered the programme. The honorary P T instructor Harshendra Kumar Jain proposed vote of thanks.
