Belle: ‘Festivals promote a spirit of brotherhood among communities’-Fr. Clement Mascarenhas

Moodubelle, 06 Sep 2016: “Festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi and Nativity of Infant Mary which follow one another within a span of few days are important events that promote a spirit of brotherhood and communal harmony among different communities”. This message was given by Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle while addressing the school children and other villagers of Belle-Kattingeri at Geeta Mandir before the commencement of the ‘Community Meal’ (Maha Annasantarpane) on Tuesday, 6 September 2016 at 12.15 pm where he was invited by the Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava Samithi of Belle-Kattingeri on the occasion of 37th year of the Sarvajanik Sri Ganeshotsava.
Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest of Moodubelle.
The Honorary Presidents of the Samithi-P.D. Kamat, Nagaraj Kamat, Devdas Hebbar and the President Ratnakara Shettigar were on the dais who welcomed both the priests and honoured them with shawls.
The school children and other villagers participated in the community meal.
