Udupi: ZP Prez Dinakar Babu lauds educational contributions of Rotary Clubs

Udupi, 31 Jul 2016: The social welfare activities of Rotary Club International (RCI) in the rural villages, especially to support the education of masses are commendable, said Udupi ZP president Dinakar Babu.
Dinakar was speaking after inaugurating the convention of Literacy Committees of Udupi district Rotary Clubs and representatives of education department at Dr V S Acharya auditorium, Manipal, here on Saturday July 30. It was jointly organized by RCI district 3182 Literacy Committee, Rotary India Literacy Mission and Udupi ZP public instructions department.
Rotary India Literacy Mission chairman Professor A S Chandrashekar offered info about the implementation of different programmes under the Mission.
Udupi district deputy director of education Divakar Shetty acknowledged the contributions of RCI in developing infrastructure in state-run schools in rural villages through Rotary India Literacy Mission.
RCI – Shirva president Dr Arun Hegde presided the perogramme.
District Rotary India Literacy sub-Committee speakers Dr Veerappa Gowda Sringeri, Chandrashekar Mendon Kota, Tukaram Shetty Nitte, Gopal Shetty Kundapura, Edwin Joseph Alva Udupi, Umesh S Shivamogga, Manjunat Upadhyaya Parka, zonal assistant governors Madhukar Hegde, Nageschandra Bhat Kundapura, Mohandas Pai Ambalapady, Subramanya Basri, K S Udupi, Dr Gururaj Shirva and others were present.
Vishnumurti Saralaya rendered the prayers. Dr Arun welcomed the gathering. District Literacy Committee vice chairman B Pundalika Marate compered the programme. RCI – Shirva secretary Sunil Cabral proposed vote of the vote of thanks.
