Mother plays key role in studies of her child - Marate

Mangaluru, 13 Jun 2016: The mother has the scope for cultural upbringing of her child, create favorable environment for enhancing intellect, poster family bond. The motherly concern is exemplified in changing times. Mother plays key role in studies of her child, said veteran intellectual and journalist Pundalika Marate Shirva.
Marate was the resource person speaking during PTA meet of Hidayat English Medium High School, Soorinje, near Kinnigoli, here on Saturday June 11.
The electronic media has greater effect on the children, while pampering of child, not to compare her child with others, daily prayers, patriotism, mutual co-operation, love, helping others and gratitude are the virtues to be nurtured in the child and help them to grow with positive mindset. One should not amass wealth for the children, instead they should become asset of the society in order to bring good name to their parents, said Marate.
The School head teacher Jayanti K urged the parents to set aside at least half-an-hour daily to assess the studies of their children. The parents should visit at least once in a month to know how their children fare in school, urged Jayanti.
The School correspondent K A Abdulla in his preliminary address elaborated on the achievement of their School in the past 25 years.
Bibi Zariulla, Class X student who scored high marks in the recently held SSLC exams was felicitated on the same occasion.
He also announced cash award of Rs 10,000 to the student who scores 601 marks in SSLC exam beginning from this academic year.
The governing council vice president Khader Milan presided the programme.
