Bantwal: Kerala police trespass Karnataka in guise of security to PM Modi’s visit

Bantwal, 07 May 2016: Kerala traffic police were found checking the vehicles inside the boundary areas of Karnataka on Kalladka – Kanhangad interstate highway at Saradka, near here on Friday May 6, but returned to their jurisdiction when the media persons arrived at the scene.
Kerala police department has taken security measures ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Kasargod ahead of parliamentary polls in Kerala. Meanwhile, the traffic cops disregarding the instructions of senior officers crossed their limits into Karnataka and were found collecting fines from erring motorists. They were at this point for one-hour.
When the media persons arrived at the spot and questioned their jurisdiction, the traffic cops slowly retreated to their limits.
Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada district SP Dr Sharanappa offered assurances of taking the issue with Kerala police in this regard.
