Durga Friends Club, Karenki to build Bldg for Govt School at Daddalkad @ Rs 1 crore

Bantwal, 03 May 2016: Durga Friends Club®, Karenki, near here that has adopted the state-run School at Daddalkad, near here and are planning to construct a building for classrooms @ Rs 1 crore is a model programme for the entire Karnataka, said Captain Ganesh Karnic, chief whip of legislative council.

 

Captain Karnic was speaking after laying the foundation for new building block for Government Higher Primary School at Daddalkad, near here at a cost of Rs 1 crore by Durga Friends Club, Karenki, near here on Sunday May 1.

He lauded the natives of Daddalkad and voluntary organizations to sustain the government schools that are threatened of poor student strength across the state.

 

Dr Mohan Alva, chairman of Alvas Eduation Foundation®, Moodbidri said, ‘The parents should be alerted over the education of their children.’    

 

ZP president Meenakshi Panaje presided the programme. 

 

The progressive peasant Rajesh Naik released the sponsorship papers.

 

The veteran litterateur Yerya Laxminarayan Alva, ZP member Tungappa Bangera, former member Sulochana G K Bhat, TP member Padmavati, Bantwal Agricultural Service Co-operative Society chairman G Anand, entrepreneur Prashant Shanbagh, retired teacher Sanjeev Gowda, Panjikal gram panchayat president Sumitra, vice president Laxminarayan Gowda, members Sanjeev Poojary, Keshav Gowda, Roopasri, BEO Sheshashayana Karinja, journalist Sandeep Salian, Bantwal South Kanara Photographers Association president Sukumar Bantwal, Ramachandra Shetty Dande, Chandappa Poojary, Rajesh Bhandary, Ramamohan Rao, Keshav Poojary, Rama Kulal, Fredrick D’Silva, Dharnappa Poojary, Raju B Poojary and others were present at the dais.

 

Durga Friends Club® president Prakash Anchan in his preliminary address said that they are committed to sustain the state-run school at Daddalkad, by adopting to develop infrastructure facilities.  Earlier, there were 30 students only at the school that has reached over 150. LKG and UKG are also begun to encourage English medium with the permission of state education department.  He further said, ‘We have come forward to build classrooms with the contributions of local and overseas donors.’

 

The local leaders Naveen, Vinod Kumar, Vittal D, Ramachandra Karenki, Ganesh, headmaster Maurice D’Souza, PTA president Rajesh Nekkare, alumni Association president Harish Kulal and others were present.

 

The teacher Hilda welcomed the gathering. The school betterment Committee president Poovappa Mendon proposed vote of thanks. Purushottam Anchan compered the programme.
