Bantwal: Affluent flows in open drains floods locality, threaten health of people

Bantwal, 27 Feb 2016: The affluent flowing in open drains in the localities of Madda, Parlia and Kaikamba, at the limits of town council is threatening the health of the people living nearby.
The affluent from eateries, fast food joints and waste is a major health hazard for the people who are already suffering from allergies. It’s a grave concern that the affluent finally reaches the lifeline Netravati River polluting the water bodies.
The municipal chief officer visited the spot on Friday February 26 and assured to clearing the drains by Monday February 29.
The social justice struggle Committee president Krishna Allipade, vice president Raja Chendtimar, general secretary Ramachandra Suvarna, local leaders B M Prabhakar Deivagudde, Harish Peraje, Sharif Madda, Abdul Razak Gumpakallu, Hasseinar Parlia, civic officials Chennappa Gowda and Purushottam were present.
