Rotary Club–Shirva celebrate 101st anniversary of RCI with family get-together

Udupi, 26 Feb 2016: Rotary Club International (RCI) that has worldwide members to help each other in a strange land. The Rotarians are embodied with helping fellowmen and are concerned of humanitarian deeds. The profession that one is engaged, discipline and good thoughts helps an individual to become successful, said Balakrishna Shetty, lecturer of Vidyavardaka PU College, Mundkoor, Karkala, and also former president of Rotary Club of Karkala.
Balakrishna was the chief guest speaking during World Awareness Day – Family get-together that was organized by Rotary Club of Shirva at Rotary auditorium, Bantakal, near here to celebrate 101st anniversary of RCI, on Wednesday February 24.
NRI and dairy entrepreneur Bantakal Dattatreya Patkar was welcomed to the family of Rotary.
The senior medical practitioner Dr N S Shetty and Rotary Club – Karkala member Suresh Nayak, Shantappa were present.
Rotary president Melvyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Rotary former president Raghupati Aithal introduced the guests. The secretary Paul Aranha proposed vote of thanks. The designated president Dr Arun Hegde compered the programme.
