Sleuths arrest youth accused of attempting sexual abuse on teen at Punacha

Bantwal, 29 Jan 2016: The sleuths arrested a youth accused of attempting sexually abusing and threatening to kill a teenage girl on Thursday January 28.
Vittal police arrested 27-year-old Vignesh, a resident of Mameshwarkatte in Kasaba village in Vittal, near here on Thursday.
Vignesh was accused of attempting to sexually abuse a 16-year-old I PUC student of Punacha village, near here, when she was alone at home. He also threatened to kill her if she confesses his act to others. Meanwhile, she has revealed everything to her parents when they returned home.
The police registered cases under POCSO, SC/ST Act, for illegal entry into the house and threatening to kill.
The sleuths arrested Vignesh when he was trying to run away to distant villages. On a sure tip-off, the police arrested him whilst waiting for bus at Mangalapadav, near here on Thursday.
The police team led by Vittal sub-inspector Prakash Devadiga arrested the accused at the direction of Bantwal DySP Bhaskar Rai and circle inspector Belliyappa. ASI Anand Poojary, police personnel Balakrishna, Praveen Rai, Praveen Kumar, Janardhan and Ramachandra were involved in this operation.
The accused has been presented before the court that awarded his judicial custody.
