Bantwal: Green Revolution yields bumper crop in 4-acre disused paddy field at Sajipamooda

Bantwal, 03 Jan 2016: The green revolution that was embarked on 100 days ago in a 4-acre paddy field at Kudamundoor, near Mittamajal, in Sajipamooda village, near here has yielded bumper crop ready for harvesting. The motion was set for mechanical harvesting here on Saturday January 2.
The 4-acre single paddy field owned by Kushala Shetty was disused for 7 years, while green revolution that was embarked on 100 days ago at the guidance of progressive farmer and veteran of green revolution – Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguttu, led by Sajipamooda gram panchayat member Sitarama Agolibettu and district Raita Sangha secretary Manohar Shetty and local youth planted the rice saplings that has yielded bumper crop.
Rajesh Naik set the motion for mechanical harvesting here on Saturday morning.
Addressing the media persons, Naik said, ‘It’s the hard work of youth of Sajipamooda the barren field has transformed into lush greenery. It has yielded bumper crop for the toil of enthusiastic youth. Hope the youth in other villages follow the lead in transforming the disused fields into paddy cultivation,’ said Naik.
Sitaram Agolibettu, Manohar Shetty, Sharat, ZP former vice president Tungappa Bangera, Kushala Shetty, local leaders Vasant Shetty Koyamajal, Suresh Shetty, Dakshan, Kushalaksha and others were present.
