Udupi: Govt contributing for stalling Kannada Schools without appointing teachers: Dr Rao

Udupi, 18 Dec 2015: The government is indirectly contributing for stalling Kannada medium schools by not appointing necessary teachers. Meanwhile, when these schools face excess of teachers, they are going to houses to enroll children, said Dr Mahabaleshwar Rao, principal of T M A Pai Education Institutions, Kunjibettu, near here.
Dr Rao was the chief guest speaking during the annual day celebration of SVS High School, Katpady, near here on Thursday December 17.
He further said, ‘The government has illogically given permissions to private institutions to open English medium schools, thereby neglected Kannada medium schools. The dwindling of new enrollment in Kannada medium schools, complicated the appointment of new teachers,’ said Dr Rao.
SVS education institutions correspondent Vasant Madhav Bhat presided the programme.
The poet Sukanya Kalasa, Vidyavardaka Sangha correspondent Ratnakar Kini, SVS PU College principal Dr Dayanand Pai, alumni Association president Prem Kumar, School pupil leader Bindia were present.
The School headmaster Shekar Anchan read the annual report. The teacher Subramanya Tantri welcomed the gathering. Kannada teacher Vidya proposed vote of thanks. The science teacher Santosh Nayak Patla compered the programme.
