Bantwal: Maharshi Valmiki greatest sage found greatness in personality - Mallya

Bantwal, 28 Oct 2015: Maharshi Valmiki is the greatest sage who has found greatness in his personality, said lecturer Madhukar Mallya of Sacred Heart PU College, Madantyar, near Beltangady.

 

Mallya was delivering a keynote address during Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti that was organized jointly by revenue department, taluk panchayat and social welfare department at Stree Shakti Bhavan, B C Road, here on Tuesday October 27.

 

 

‘Valmiki propagated shunning caste that is being embraced by the people in India,’ said Mallya. Today, the caste has overtaken humanity, love and mutual trust in the society. It’s the sign of humanity pushing for its early extinction, added Mallya. Ramayana is a treasure trove of culture, added Mallya. He urged the people to make efforts in exposing the reality rather speak to get applauses.

 

TP president Yashwant D presided the programme. The town councilor Vasanti Chandappa, ZP members M S Mohammed, Santosh Kumar Rai and Chandraprakash Shetty also spoke on the occasion.

 

TP CEO Cyprian Miranda, municipal chief officer Sudhakar, taluk social welfare officer Kashi was present at the dais. Tahsildar Purandar Hegde welcomed the gathering. Prasad proposed vote of thanks. Manju Vittal compered the programme.
