Accident-prone highway; Public donate barricades to police

Karkal, 07 Oct 2015: The social welfare organizations/voluntary organizations and others donated 11 barricades to police department at Belman bus stand, near here on Monday October 5, to restrict daily accidents on already widened Karkal – Belman – Padubidri national highway.
The barricades that were sourced with the earnest efforts of bus agent/time keeper and social worker Ravi were handed over to Karkal ASP Dr Suman who assured to take all possible action in curbing daily accidents on highway.
Karkal rural police officer Krishnamurti, TP member Xavier D’Mello, Belman gram panchayat president Mallika Rao, Karkal rural policemen, Nandalike – Laxmi Janardhana School head teacher Sureka M and office bearers of different social welfare and voluntary organizations were present.
The retired lecturer Sitaram Bhat welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks.
Lions Club – Belman, Jaycees Club International – Belman, Hosmar alumni Association, Karate instructors, bus agents, auto rickshaw, St Joseph’s Ambulance - Belman, and others contributed towards the barricades.

Very good initiative by the local Public.It is better to have a circle in the middle of the point with KEEP LEFT board and drive slowley indicators so that the vehicle drivers will be careful-particularly Two wheelrs- youngster. this is a century old junction until widening of the roads there was no such alarming history as I Know. However to be careful is always necessary. Life is precious! |
