1,000 ABVP activists hold protest rally against Yettinahole

Bantwal, 17 Sep 2015: The taluk unit of ABVP held a protest rally in front of taluk office, B C Road, here on Wednesday September 16, opposing Yettinahole project.
Over 1,000 students held a protest rally from Polali welcome arch at Kaikamba till taluk office, where a protest meet was held. Addressing the protesters, ABVP town secretary Nidhi N alleged that Yettinahole project is a futile effort and a means for swindling money.
ABVP activist Avinash Kadeshwalya urged the state administration to take early action before the stir becomes massive protest. ABVP activists formed human chain in front of taluk office and staged street play against the project.
ABVP state secretary P Prajwal Bangera said that it’s irony that those politicians hailing from coastal district who found success in politics are in favor of Yettinahole project, while the reigning MLAs and ministers who are from coastal district have no guts to oppose the project need to resign and sit at home.
The taluk ABVP convener Ashwat Kumar, ABVP leaders Pramod Noojipady, Deviprasad, Medha Ramakunja, Charit Bhandary, Ashrit, Kirtan, Pradeep and others were present.
ABVP town secretary Sunil Bhat welcomed the gathering. The district co-convener Pranam Raj proposed vote of thanks.
A memorandum was presented to Tahsildar to forward the same to CM Siddaramaiah along a vessel of water sourced from Netravati River.
