Bantwal, 11 Aug 2015: The rural police on Monday August 10 arrested 3 persons accused of murdering twenty-eight-year-old Naseir, a native of Malaibettu in Sajipamunnoor village, near here by assaulting with lethal weapons at Kandoor, near Melkar, in the guise of asking for direction to a certain location.
The arrested has been identified as Vijit, Anish and Kiran, all residents of Manchi, near here. The police have laid the manhunt to nab Abhijit who is absconding.
The arrests were made by a team of sleuths from Bantwal town and DCIB, led by Bantwal circle inspector Belliappa. ‘The accused will be presented in the court at the earliest,’ informed Bantwal town sub-inspector Nandakumar.
The case posed a challenge for the police as the incident had taken place on midnight. The police department considering it as a serious issue, called all those involved in crimes in the past and goons from the records and interrogated them in this regard. But it was a futile exercise as it did not yielded any clues. Meanwhile, the police made the breakthrough when they diversified the investigation and managed to arrest the accused.
The police sources informed that the murder was done as an vengeance for the attack at Salettoor, near Vittal, here a few days ago, and not with the intention of killing.
