Udupi: Public tributes paid to Dr Kalam by drawing portrait

Udupi, 06 Aug 2015: The social welfare and voluntary organizations of Katpady, near here paid homage to Dr Kalam, by drawing the portrait of former President at the auditorium of SVS School, Katpady here on Wednesday August 5.

 

Udupi ZP former president Katpady Shankar Poojary in his condolence message lauded the common man’s President who loved the students and inspired scientific inventions.

 

 

ZP member Geetanjali M Suvarna, TP member Srikara Anchan, St Paul parish priest Fr Ronson D’Souza, Jumma masjid mudarris Mohammed Basheer Madani, SVS School correspondent K Mahesh Shenoy, Dr Ravindranat Shetty, JCI president Sudhir D B, TV serial director Prakash Suvarna, Rotary president Appu Poojary also paid homage to Dr Kalam.

 

Kote gram panchayat president Krutika Rao, Udupi district Pariala Sangh president U Shankar Salian, taximen’s union president Ramesh K Kotian, advocate Asadulla, MESCOM junior engineer Rajesh Nayak, journalist Vijay Acharya, principal Dr Dayanand Pai, headmaster Shekar Anchan, Mahesh Anchan, Laxman were present.

 

The students, teaching and clerical staff and others were also present.

 

Ravindra Acharya welcomed the gathering. Ganesh Acharya proposed vote of thanks. SVS alma mater president Raghavendra Rao and B C Rajesh Acharya compered the programme. 

 

Surya Purohit Karkal has drawn the portrait of Dr Kalam using Rangoli powder in 3 hours.
