Karkal: Dairy farmer in distress over 3 Jersey cows electrocuted at Nitte

Karkal, 24 June 2015: Three imported breed of cows were electrocuted while grazing in the farmland at Nitte, near here on Sunday June 21 evening.
Three New Jersey cows worth Rs 1.5 lac which was sustaining the family of Nitte Laxminarayan Sharma were electrocuted as the live wire broke from the supply line.
The local veterinary officer Dr Sunil M G visited the spot and done the autopsy.
The cows owner Sharma pleaded MESCOM to pay compensation for the loss of his livelihood that he was able to earn from dairy farming.
The representatives of the local milk producers’ co-operative society and peoples representatives also visited the family and offered assurances of awarding compensation.
