Bantwal: Massive protest staged against NHAI over pot-holed service road in city

Bantwal, 10 June 2015: The social justice Committee in association with Bantwal taxi drivers Association and Bantwal taluk unit of Karnataka state Raita Sangh – Hasiru Sene, jointly staged protest on the service road that links B C Road, against the deplored state of road filled with pot-holes here on Tuesday June 9.
The social justice Committee president Krishna Allipada led the protest and expressed anguish over the apathy of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials for the ill state of service road.
The pot-holed service road is a nightmare to motorists and pedestrians, while the NHAI officials are in deep slumber unconcerned of situation that gets aggravated on the onset of monsoon. The protesters cautioned the authorities to stage massive protest if their demands are further delayed.
DK district tourist taxi and bus drivers-owners Association founder president B M Prabhakar Deivagudde, Sharat of Raita Sangh Hasiru Sene, Usman of Bantwal taluk auto rickshaw drivers Association, justice Committee secretary Ramachandra Kayermar, Sundar Poojary Melkar, Kamalaksha Poojary Bellore, Bantwal taluk auto rickshaw drivers Association-BMS and others participated in the protest.
The town police provided security on the location.
