Bantwal, 03 May 2015: It’s the peak summer wherein most of the open wells and nature’s ponds go dry, while a newly-dug-up borewell found abundant of water. The water is gushing out of a borewell dug up nearby Nati Government School that lies in the limits of Narikombu village, near here.
The borewell was dug up on Thursday April 30 by Taskforce on the instructions of DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai. Although, three borewells were dug up, none yielded any water. Meanwhile, the new borewell dug up in the vicinity had plenty of water that made it difficult to cap the borewell. The technicians made 8 tiny holes to the cap and manage to seal the borewell. The pressure is so much that the water gushes on these tiny wholes and already created a pool that flows into nearby plantations.
The locals who were struggling to fetch a few vessels of water for drinking are happy to find the bounty.
