Vets begin Foot & Mouth vaccine for livestock at Shirva

Udupi, 17 Mar 2015: The statewide drive to administer vaccine for foot-and-mouth disease that has begun at the locality of Shirva near here on Monday March 16 at the backdrop of a huge livestock was perished owing to the disease already.   

 

It was organized in association with animal husbandry department, Shirva gram panchayat, Rotary Club – Shirva and DKMUL, led by veterinary Dr Arun Hegde.

 

 

Dr Hegde urged the dairy farmers to avail the vet services to administer vaccines to the cattle once in 6 months. He also educated them on the symptoms of disease and prevention.   

 

Rotary Club – Shirva president Dr N S Shetty presided the programme. 

 

K R Patkar delivered the vote of thanks.
