Udupi: Eight school children injured in express bus rampage

Udupi, 15 Mar 2015: To the rampage of the private express bus, eight school children travelling in an auto-rickshaw were injured after the rickshaw collided with an express bus near the municipal council office here on Friday March 13.

The sources informed that a speeding Mangaluru - Udupi bound express bus overtook the rickshaw and took a sudden turn just before halting it at the bus stop. As a result, the clueless auto-driver lost control over his vehicle and ended up ramming into the bus.

 

 
Due to this, a total of eight children, students of St Mary’s School and Christian High School sustained injuries. Out of them, Yuvraj and Sona, and rickshaw driver Krishna were seriously injured. They were rushed to a private hospital. The other six children are said to have escaped with minor injuries.

Udupi traffic police have registered a case.
