Bantwal: Minister Rai inaugurates drinking water project in Panemangaluru

Bantwal, 16 Feb 2015: The state administration has sanctioned the additional of Rs 60 crore to continue the stalled underground drainage works in the limits town council, said the state forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating drinking water project for Bondala – Shantigudde – Gundoor areas, near here that was undertaken by the town council in the limits of Panemangaluru village for the financial year 2013 – 14, by switching on the electric pump installed to borewell, here on Sunday February 15.
‘The state government approved Rs 40 crore for second phase of drinking water project for Bantwal town council, while the drinking water issue will be resolved in stages,’ said minister Rai. Meanwhile, there are plans to upgrade the town council into municipality and it would lead to further state funds, added minister Rai.
The former town councilor Mohammed Rafiq, councilor Vasanti Chandappa, Jacinta D’Souza, Banatwal Rotary Club president N Prakash Karant and local veteran Sripati Bhat were present at the dais.
