Youth organizations engaged in social service strengthen nation

Udupi, 12 Feb 2015: The youth organizations that are engaged in social welfare activities are strengthening the nation. It’s also a national service to recognize the selfless service of an individual because it also inspires others, said Benjamin Mathias, retired teacher from Mudarangady.
Benjamin was speaking during fortieth anniversary celebration of Young men’s Sports and Cultural Association held at public celebration of Ganeshotsav stage, Shirva, near here on Monday February 9.
The veteran barber Shirva Ballady Babu Bhandary was felicitated on the same occasion.
Udupi entrepreneur Udayakumar Shetty presided the programme.
The scholarship was distributed to the talented students and medical assistance offered to needy patients.
Condolences were offered to the repose of departed member Manjunat Prabhu.
Young men’s Sports and Cultural Association president Felix Menezes welcomed the gathering. The secretary Harish Acharya presented the annual report. Mumbai hotelier Sadanand Sapaliga distributed the prizes to the winners of competitions. Neha Aras rendered the prayers. Satischandra Shetty proposed vote of thanks. Anant Moodittaya compered the programme.
Dumbu Pira Yennle, Tulu play was staged by the artistes of Ranga Taranga – Kaup as part of entertainment programme.
