Blackberry phone in dustbin causes panic in Manipal

 

Manipal, 12 Jan 2015: A ringing cellphone inside a dustbin in the premises of a student hostel in Manipal created panic on Sunday, January 11.

 

According to the sources, the security guard of the hostel heard a cell phone ringing inside a dustbin. Within minutes the rumors of detecting a bomb spread across the hostel and in the vicinity.

 

The Manipal police, who were informed about the incident, immediately arrived at the spot and traced a blackberry phone inside the dustbin which created panic.

 

Within afternoon, the police also received a complaint by a student stating his cell phone was missing. The student also stated that his phone must have fallen inside the dustbin by mistake.

 

After the detailed verification, the phone will be handed over to the student by Monday by the police.
