Puttur: KSOU Classes begins at St Philomena College

Puttur, 08 Jan 2015: Inaugural function of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) regular classes for B A and B Com students was held at St Philomena College (SPC), here recently.
Professor Xavier D’Souza, principal of Government First Grade Women’s College, in his inaugural address said, ‘Open Universities are doing a remarkable work in providing quality education and opportunity to grow in life to all sections of society. It has revolutionized education system in India and has made education accessible to everyone. It is an important contributor in higher education and in development of India.’
Professor Vishnu Bhat, vice principal of St Philomena College presided the programme.
Professor Radhakrishna Gowda, head of department of business management and co-ordinator of KSOU Study Centre of the College welcomed the gathering. The College administrative staff Joachim Menezes proposed the vote of thanks. Professor Prashanth Rai, commerce lecturer compered the programme.
