Hephsiba Rani Korlapati takes charge as MCC Commissioner
Mangaluru, 01 Jan 2015: The long pending demand to appoint a Commissioner to Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has finally come to an end as Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, an IAS Officer took charge as the Commissioner of MCC on Thursday, January 1.
Hephsiba who originally hails from Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh is a 2011 batch IAS officer and had secured 20th rank in the UPSC examination.
Addressing the reporters, she stated that Mangaluru which is in the phase of development can gain new facelifts considering all the fields.
"After my discussions and meeting with officials concerned, I would be able to take major decisions with regards to the development of the city. I would conduct a detailed study of the city to act upon my plans" she said further.
A post-graduate in Geography from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, she completed her graduation at the College for Women, Osmania University, Hyderabad in History, Geography and Public Administration. She earlier served as the assistant commissioner of Basavakalyana sub-division in Bidar.
