Puttur: St. Philomena College celebrates Hindi Day

Puttur, Oct 17, 2014: The department of Hindi at St. Philomena College here celebrated Hindi Day at college premises on Thursday October 16.
Vivekanand College head of department of Hindi Dr Durgaratna was the chief guest of the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Durgaratna said, ‘The students should bring a change in themselves according to the changing social, economical and cultural needs. Students being the future generation of the country play a major role in the progress, building unity and it as a republic nation. Hindi being our national language students should show keen interest on this language of national importance.’
The College principal Professor Leo Noronha presided the function.
The College head of department of Hindi Professor Vishnu Bhat was also present.
The winners of the inter-collegiate competition and the students who secured the highest marks in the University level, Pavitra, Blossom and Joyline were felicitated on the same occasion.
Reshma and group sang the prayer song. Hindi lecturer Maria Priyadarshini welcomed the gathering. Zahira Shaikh proposed the vote of thanks. Mehek compered the programme.
