Karkal: Serving elderly indeed charity – Fr Lawrence

Karkal, 01 Oct 2014: Behind success of every individual there lie contributions of elders. Their wealth of knowledge is guiding us to achieve something significant in life. We got to be grateful to them. The love and empathy that we show to our elders is pleasing to God, said Belman – St Joseph’s parish priest Fr Lawrence B D’Souza.
Fr Lawrence was speaking during Elders’ Day celebration that was organized by St Joseph’s English Medium School, Belman, near here on Wednesday October 1.
The retired principal P Jayant Rao, veterans Bernard D’Souza and Sr Pauline were felicitated on the same occasion.
Belman assistant parish priest Fr John B Moras, high school head teacher Sr Monica, senior teacher B Pundalika Marate conveyed best wishes.
The school governing council president Ronald D’Souza, parish council vice president Gregory Menezes, Dominic Andrade and Dorati Pinto were present on the dais.
The teacher Supreeta D Paula, Nisha Devadiga, Priscilla Fernandes, Sunanda Salian were also present.
Bro Arun D’Souza in his introductory address explained the significance of Elders’ Day celebration.
The teacher Gayatri Bhat introduced the distinguished individuals. The head teacher Janet D’Souza assisted in the programme. Shweta Shetty welcomed the gathering. Risha D’Souza compered the programme. Reynold D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.
