Mumbai: Koota Mahajagattu® president M R Mayya no more

Mumbai, 4 Sep 2014: The eighty-three-year-old Mangalpady Ramachandra Mayya (M R Maiyya), president of Koota Mahajagattu Mumbai ® passed away at Dr Bhatia Hospital, Tardel, Mumbai Central here owing to brief illness on Thursday September 4 morning.
M R Mayya was retired after serving as director of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and Karnataka Bank and was living in Louis Apartment, near Portuguese church, Dadar (West) here. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Mayya hailed from Mangalpady in Dakshina Kannada district, strived to inspire youth for nation building.
Karnataka Bank chairman Anantakrishna, managing director P Jayaram Bhat, Koota Mahajagattu Mumbai ® vice president U N Ithal, secretary P C N Rao, treasurer Ramesh M Rao, P V Ithal, and heads of Kannadiga and Tulu associations condoled the demise of veteran Mayya.
The last rite of Mayya was held at crematorium in Worli (West) here on Wednesday evening, informed family sources.
