Sr. Marie Vera (Eliz Teacher)was my sweet-heart teacher at sixth standard, taught me basic Hindi and Religious Classes. Always smiling, she was a true teacher, good guide and more than an elder sister to all her students. Her sad demise is the greatest loss to the Bethany Sisters. My heart-felt condolences to her bereaved family members. May her soul Rest-In-Peace.

RIP. I belonged to the 1966 batch of your students that saw you off to the convent. You and Mary teacher (my cousin)herded us along our way home from school on most occasions..fare you well now.

Sr Marie Vera, fondly known by her students as Eliz Teacher during her 11 years of teaching career in Church Higher Elementary School, Moodubelle, was an ever smiling softhearted teacher. Although she never taught me, we were guided by her and by Eugene teacher when I was a member of the Legion of Mary in the parish. When Loretto convent opened in Moodubelle, she was not very fond of the sisters of Bethany. It was a pleasant surprise for us when she decided to join the Congregation of the Sisters of Little Flower of Bethany. Perhaps, the friendly nature of the sisters in Belle made her to take a bold decision at the mature age of 30. I met her a few years back in Mumbai when she landed there from Germany. My heart felt condolences to the Bethany sisters and to all the family members. May she rest in peace. |
