Bantwal: KSRTC begins bus service to Govt College, Kamaje

Bantwal, Aug 15, 2014 : The long-awaited bus service to Government College at Kamaje, here was at last fulfilled on Thursday August 14. The students who were hither to walking 3 kilometers to reach their college can now commute in KSRTC bus service. Mangalore division of state-run KSRTC began the service on the basis of demand by the College betterment Committee and recommended by district-in-charge minister. Its indeed a boon for students to commute to and fro city center.
Government College was established at Kamaje, about 3 kilometers from B C Road, here a few years ago. The students had to walk as there were no bus services. Meanwhile, the College betterment Committee has been following up with KSRTC to begin the bus service since the beginning. Although, the bus services began it was stalled because of deplored road. However, now the road has been repaired and made motorable. Its because of the earnest efforts of College betterment Committee chairman Sadashiv Bangera, the bus service began here on Thursday. The bus will ply on mornings and evenings.
Motion set for bus service
The motion was set for bus service by Sadashiv Bangera at the college premises here on Thursday morning, by breaking the coconut on the ground. The bus driver and conductor were honored by draping shawl on the occasion.
Jagdish Kundar, Tulu Sahitya Academy member D M Kulal, JCI president Manohar Nerambolu, Satish Kulal, College principal Laila Mary, Professor Girish Bhat and others were present.
