Udupi: Aatidonji Dina celebrated at Manipur

Udupi, Aug 13, 2014 : At the joint aegis of Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Sangha, Mahila Balaga and Yuva Vedike, Shirva, near here Aatidonji Dina was celebrated at Manipur, near here on Tuesday August 12.

 

Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Sangha president Ratnakar Salian presided the programme here on Tuesday morning.

 

 

Sudhakr D Amin was the chief guest of the occasion, said, ‘Our ancestors lived healthy lives for many years, by having nature given leafy vegetables and grown them by organic farming.  Meanwhile, we are so much used to fast foods in embracing modernity, thereby we spend major chunk of money hard earned money on medication.  There lie scientific reasons in our ancestor’s food habits and lifestyles.  Aatidonji Dina during monsoon every year gives scope for new generation to know the splendor of bygone Tulunadu traditions and practices,’ said Amin.

 

The mouth-watering Aati delicacies of 26 varieties were feasted by the gathering on the occasion.

 

Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Sangha former president Jayashekar Palan, former secretary Anuf Kumar, Mahila Balaga president Sasikala, Yuva Vedike president Vijit and others were present.

 

Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Sangha secretary Sasikant Kotian welcomed the gathering.  Sharat proposed vote of thanks.  Chandrashekar Salian and Mohammed Sharif compered the programme.
