Kundapur: Carmel Sr Marie Violet (68) passes away

Kundapur, 28 Jul 2014: The sixty-eight-year-old retired teacher - Carmel nun Sr Marie Violet passed away due to cardiac arrest here on Friday July 25.
 
Sr Marie hailed from Holy Cross parish, Cordel, Mangalore.  She was the daughter of the late William Pereira and Angeline Rego.

 


 
Sr Marie is survived by her mother, brother Allen Pereira – retired CEO of Bank of Maharashtra, sister Margaret settled in Canada, along with colleagues at the convent and dear ones.
 
Sr Marie completed 44-years of religious life.  She served as head teacher at St Joseph’s High School, here and Stella Maris High School, Gangolli.
 
She served as teacher for 35 years, working in St Agnes High School - Mangalore, Kallianpur High School and Kemmanu High School.
 
The funeral will be held at St Agnes convent chapel, Mangalore on Tuesday July 29 at 3.00pm.
