Vittal police nab cattle-lifter from Salettoor; Seize mini-truck

Bantwal, 11 Jul 2014: The policemen of Vittal station intercepted a mini-truck laden with stolen cattle and arrested the notorious cattle-lifter, here on Thursday July 10.  The other accomplices of Basheer managed to flee from the spot.
 
The arrested has been identified as thirty-year-old Basheer, son of cattle broker Monu Beary, a resident of Kattattila – Panjarakodi, near Salettoor, at the limits of Vittal police station.

 

 
Basheer was arrested on the tip-off by Bajarang Dal activists of Salettoor that 3 trucks laded with stolen cattle are on its way from Malnad region to the periphery of foothills of Western Ghats.   
 
The policemen seized the mini-truck and also 4 cows and lodged at Vittal police station.
 
Vittal police sub-inspector T R Raghavendra registered a case on Basheer.
