RCI – Belman creates record in maiden year-Suryakant

Karkal, 11 Jul 2014: Rotary Club International (RCI) – Belman, near here that was established 2013 – 14 bagged 8 district awards for undertaking social welfare activities in its first year of inception by establishing Interact Clubs in 3 high schools in the neighbourhood, one Rotaract Club in Belman, a Rotary community unit at Bola Piliyoor @ Rs 15 lac, among RCI district that comprises 8 revenue districts of Karnataka, said RCI – Belman founder president Kedinje Suryakant Shetty.

Addressing the media persons at the press meet held at Rotary office, Belman, near here on Thursday July 10 evening, Suryakant said that financial help to poor patients, blood camps and health checkup camps were held periodically, pulse polio campaign, sponsorship of students studies, donated an open stage to Padubettu school, playground to children’s nursery at Nandalike – Mavinakatte, tap water to Laxmi Janardhan temple, insurance cover to 1,832 students, talent recognition, donated house to poor families, buying of plot to construct community building, sponsorship for cultural activities and sports, said Suryakant.

 

 
The induction of new office bearers of RCI – Belman will be held at St Joseph’s School auditorium, Belman on Monday July 14 at 7.00pm.  The new president K Suresh Rao led members chalked out plans to construct toilets, free books to students, health education and in providing basic amenities in the neighbourhood, said Suryakant.

 
RCI – Belman secretary Vignesh Shenoy, community service director Alwyn Neri Pinto, Jitesh Kanchan and Mervin Pinto were present on the occasion.
