Road Caves in at Manchikere Colony, Manipal

Udupi, Jul 02, 2014 : A trench has been formed by itself across II Cross road to Manchikere Colony in front Naga Brahmastana, Manipal, near here on Tuesday July 1.  The locals are apprehensive over this trench of nearly 100 meters with nearly 10 feet depth. 

 

There lies a cave a little far away and the people are wondering whether the trench formed due to extreme heat on the upper layers of earth owing to harsh summer.  The geologists are only able to reveal the cause after they visit the location.  

 

 

The locals observe the phenomenon very closely and found that the trench is extending to their amazement.  Meanwhile, a foundation laid to build the house several feet away also developed cracks.
