Nandalike Residents help Mescom to restore power supply

Karkal, Jun 19, 2014 : The local residents of Nandalike, near Belman, here who were agitated over erratic power supply in their neighbourhood, voluntarily chopped-off the branches and twines of trees that were disrupting power supply.
The erratic power supply has been causing inconvenience to the local enterprises, students and the entire populace since the onset of monsoon. The wild vegetation on power lines and electric poles are causing electricity failure by automatically tripping-off the power supply.
When the angry locals met Pradeep, branch manager of public utility provider Mescom at Belman, he said that they face the shortage of workmen as electricity failure is common in extended locality especially during monsoon season, as a few branches of trees collapse on the power lines.
Meanwhile, the local youth who are members of Guru Durga Mitra Mandali, the members of Rotaract and local residents voluntarily cleared the branches all along the power line.
The locals set an example by co-operating with Mescom in doing their mite that ensured uninterrupted power supply in their neighbourhood.
