Mangalore bus fares to go up from Monday

Mangalore, 26 May 2014: The city bus fares will go up from Monday. The Dakshina Kannada Bus Owners Association has decided to revise the city bus fares by 8%.

 

The association has decided to keep stage one fares at the earlier Rs 7 itself and raise the rest of the stages by 8%.

 

 

The association stated that since the percentage of hike was within the notification guidelines of the state government, they have informed the Regional Transport Authority on May 24, according to association President Nelson Pereira and general secretary Vijayakrishna Puthran.

 

While, there would be no change in the minimum fare of Rs 7 for the first stage, there would be Re 1 hike in the next stage from Rs 8 to Rs 9, Rs 9 to Rs 10. The hike has been Rs 2 for stages whose fare was Rs 10 and above.
