M’lore: St Christopher Association celebrate Founder’s Day

Mangalore, 27 March 2014: St. St Christopher Association of Rosario Cathedral parish celebrated founder’s day here on Wednesday March 26.
St Christopher Association honorary president Susheel Noronha, felicitated founder secretary Alphonse Fernandes, senior member Denis Lobo and also other 10 founder members on the same occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Noronha said that when the Association was started there were 132 founder members and its due to their selfless service and social concern, the Association has reached to this position. By their great efforts, the hostel facilities were provided to the needy and for the drivers, financial support extended through the MACO Society that owns Balmatta petrol pump offering best of customer service. This is only because of founder members. At present, Association has a strength of 1,500 members who are united for common good and set an example to other Associations.
Speaking on the occasion, spiritual director Fr J B Crasta said, ‘By the senior members’ dedication and sacrifice, it is a great encouragement to the present members. He hoped that the Association will contribute for the welfare of society in the years to come,’ said Fr Crasta.
Alphonse Fernandes recalled the early struggles of collective members of Association.
The Association vice president Francis D’Souza, joint secretary Denis D’Souza were present on the dais.
The Association president Raymond D’Cunha welcomed the gathering. The secretary Herald D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
