Udupi: Foundation laid for additional overhead tank at Hoode

Udupi, 6 Mar 2014: The zilla panchayat member Mallika Ashok laid the foundation for constructing an additional overhead tank with the capacity to store 1 lac liters of water at the premises of Hoode School, near here, on Wednesday March 5.  The tank will be built at the earliest as the people residing in the limits of Padu Tonse gram panchayat faced acute shortage of drinking water.

 
Speaking on the occasion, Mallika said that the state government has been laying due importance to drinking water that is the most basic need of human being.  At this backdrop, zilla panchayat has reserved funds to construct overhead tanks with a capacity of 15 lac. The water will be regularly stored in overhead tanks once they are ready, said Mallika.
