Mangalore: DYFI leads Protest demanding CBI Probe on Panjimogaru Double Murder

Mangalore, 3 Mar 2014: DYFI and Janavadi Mahila Sangatane led the mega protest by displaying black flags at Kuloor junction, here on Sunday March 2, urging the state administration to hand over the case of two-year-old double murder of a woman and her child in Panjimogaru locality, as the law enforcement agencies failed to find a breakthrough. 

 
Addressing the protesters, DYFI Dakshina Kannada (DK) district president Muneer Katipalla said that it’s a disgrace to police department for not been able to unearth the case, despite of several protests and sit-ins.  The criminal activities such as murders, attempted murders are going on unabated in the city.  The countless cases of burglary, theft and looting are the norm.  The police department has completely forgotten to investigate the cases.  The people are apprehensive over the situation.  It’s a irony that the minister hailing from DK and local MLA are not taking interest to pursue the case, said Muneer.

 

 
In spite of court granted permission to subject the suspects of Panjimogaru case for narco test four months ago local MLA Moideen Bava has not taken interest in pursuing the case that shows his recklessness.  MLA Bava who staged protest ahead of last legislative assembly elections pressuring the state government to hold CBI probe on the case, it seems there has been systematic attempts to cover up the case as the probe has been delayed so far.  The doubts hovers over MLA because he seems to be part of this nexus, alleged Muneer Katipalla.

 
The local corporator and DYFI district secretary Damayanda Shetty, B K Imtiyaz, Jeevan Raj,Santosh Bajal, Charan Shetty also spoke on the occasion.
