Women need to unite for economic empowerment; Vandana

Udupi, 3 Feb 2014 : The women strengthen the bond for their common good in the society. The women have to be economically empowered by availing state benefits, urged Vandana Yogish Acharya.
Vandana was speaking after inaugurating Sri Durga Mahila Mandali, during a function held at Durgadevi Mandir, Shanthinagar, Kalattoor, near here on Saturday February 1 morning.
ZP member Geetanjali M Suvarna was the chief guest, said that the women organizations are essential to quickly respond to the atrocities on women in the society. The women have to be self sufficient to live in men-oriented society. The state benefits for backward communities had to be better utilized. The women are likely to get 50 percent reservation in political sphere to empower them, said Geetanjali.
Shirva Agricultural Service Co-operative Society manager Ravindra Acharya offered information on various facilities that can be availed by the people.
Sri Durga Mahila Mandali president Mallika Janardhan Acharya presided the programme.
Kaup – Hosamarigudi managing trustee Vijayalaxmi Shekar Acharya, Kalattoor – Vishwakarma Samaj Seva Sangh president Kukkunje Anantayya Acharya, ZP member Arun Shetty Padoor, Kutyar gram panchayat vice president Praveen Kumar Gurme, member Ashok Rao were present on the occasion.
