India, Young Nation in Globe – Adarsh Gokhale

Udupi, 8 Jan 2014 : India has 60 percent of world’s youth population.  The countries such as USA, UK, and Germany etc are countries of elderly citizens, while India is a youth country in the world, said Samskara Bharati – Mangalore division convener Adarsh Gokhale.

 


Gokhale was the chief guest speaking during eighth anniversary celebration of Youth Friends Club of Gandhi Nagar, Pangala, near here on Tuesday January 7.

 



Gokhale after felicitating Pangala Pandurang Shanbagh, who is born-blind and working as assistant manager of Syndicate Bank, Catholic Center branch and also Udupi RSS district president, said that youth community has to make a vow to build glorious India, on the occasion of one-hundred-fiftieth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.  The corruption is rampant from villages till national capital and turmoil of leadership.  The women have ardent duty to raise their children culturally than following the bollywood ideals, pursuing TV serials and chatting on mobiles.  The soldiers who are guarding our borders and all those who have sacrificed their lives for the nation are the true heroes.  India is the abode of temples and worship centers since contemporary times, said Gokhale.  He urged the youth to take earnest interest in making the nation a super power.




The senior teacher and intellectual B Pundalika Marate Shirva said that 2014 will be a turning point for the nation, with hope of revival of Indian culture, communal harmony and to achieve the aspiration of making India a prosperous nation in the world.  He appealed to the youth to realize the dream of Prosperous India as envisioned by the former Indian President A P J Kalam by 2020.



Shankarapura – St John’s High School headmaster Mohandas R Shetty was the chief guest of the occasion conveyed best wishes.



Udupi Jana Jagruti Samiti president entrepreneur Naveen Amin Shankarapura in his presidential address said that Youth Friends Club, Pangala has been actively involved in social welfare activities and sought support from locals.



Panduranga Shanbagh in acknowledgement to felicitation said that the true honour lies in reforming the families into well cultured and patriotic.



Panduranga’s wife Lata Shanbagh, children Aparna and Vignesh were also present on the occasion.



The donors Ganesh Salian and Santosh were honoured during the programme.



Youth Friends Club president Manohar welcomed the gathering.  Dinesh Poojary read the annual report.  Sadasiv read the names of winners of sports competitions.  Jagdish Acharya read the felicitation address.  The teacher Raghuram compered the programme.  Ganesh Acharya proposed vote of thanks.



The variety cultural shows were presented by the members of Youth Friends Club and local school students.



Yelya Vishaya Malla Malpodchi, Tulu social play was staged by Lakumi theater group from Mangalore as part of entertainment programme.
