Kundapur: Narayan Karvi announces Fourteenth Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan in Kollur

Kundapur, Jan 07, 2014 : The fourteenth taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan will be held at the leadership of Krishnaprasad Adyantaya, chairman of Sri Mookambika temple governing council at Kollur, near here, said Kannada Parishat president Kundapur Narayan Karvi.

It was decided during the meeting of office bearers of taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat, chaired by Krishnaprasad Adyantaya.  The date has not been set for Sahitya Sammelan so far.

 

It was decided to hold three-day Sahitya Sammelan for the first time in the history of taluk.  The traditional consensus was reached by offering a plateful of beetle-leaves, areca nut bits, dried tobacco leaves and lime during the first round of meeting held at the residence of Adyantaya, urging Parishat members to co-operate in this regard.

The taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Kundapur Narayan Karvi, secretary K G Vaidya handed over the charge to Krishnaprasad Adyantaya by offering the traditional beetle-leaves etc filled plate and draping the shawl.

Krishnaprasad’s wife Anita, daughters Anagha and Avani, Parishat office bearers Manjunat Karvi and B N Ramachandra and others were present.

The Sammelan will be held in December 2014, while a reception Committee and sub-Committees will be formed at the chairmanship of Adyantaya shortly, said Kundapur Narayan Karvi.

A meeting will be held at Kollur, here after Akhil Bharat Sahitya Sammelan in Madikeri; in order to elect the chairman of taluk Sammelan and to delegate responsibilities in this regard, said secretary K G Vaidya.  The three-day taluk Sahitya Sammelan will be held for the first time in Kundapur, added Vaidya.

The litterateurs proved that there lies no discretion of caste and creed in choosing one Dalit litterateur during thirteenth taluk Sahitya Sammelan held at Siddapur, near here during December 2013.  The Parishat sought the support of people for successful organizing of three-day Sammelan for the first time in taluk.
