Tertiary Franciscan Order Members celebrate the feast of their Patron Saint at M’belle

Udupi/M’belle, 5 Oct 2013: The Tertiary Franciscan Order Members celebrated the feast of their patron Saint, St. Francis Of Assisi on Saturday, October5, 2013 at 4 pm. The Holy Feast Mass was offered by Rev. Fr. Robert Lasrado OFM Cap. Director of Assisi Nilaya along with Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes. The liturgy of the feast mass was animated by the members of the Tertiary Franciscan Order so also the choir was conducted by the members.

 
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Robert Lasrado explained the meaning of faith, the theme of the readings for the day and also highlighted the strong faith professed by St. Francis of Assisi in his life and actions.

 

 
Following the feast Mass, a get-together of the members was held in the Parish Hall presided over by Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes. Rev. Fr. Robert Lasrado, Alphonse K. Alva, Mrs. Jacinta D’Souza, Vice President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council respectively were present on the dais along with Mrs. Rita Mathais, President of the Tertiary Franciscan Order.
 

In his message, Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes extended the greetings of the feast of their patron saint to all the members of the Tertiary Franciscan Order and asked them to follow the teachings and example of St. Francis of Assisi.

 
Mrs. Rita Mathais, President of the Tertiary Franciscan Order welcomed the gathering, Mrs. Jacinta Lobo, Secretary read the report of the activities of the last year, Mrs. Helen D’Souza, Vice President proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Sobina Martis compeered the programme.
